Hamad International Airport has been ranked as the second-best airport in the world during the 2023 Skytrax World Airport Awards ceremony held at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The airport also won the awards for "Best Airport for Shopping in the World" and "Best Airport in the Middle East" for the ninth consecutive time.
The World Airport Awards are among the most prestigious awards in the airport sector, voted on by customers in the largest annual customer satisfaction survey for airports.
Engineer Badr Mohammed Al Meer, CEO of Operations at Hamad International Airport, expressed his satisfaction with the recognition, stating: "We are pleased to receive the Skytrax global awards for airports and for Hamad International Airport to be voted as one of the best airports in the world. These awards reflect our smooth operational processes, the efforts of our employees, and our investment in providing exceptional travel experiences for our passengers and offering our partners the best facilities and services. We are committed to our growth plans and maintaining the highest standards in the global travel industry."
The World Airport Awards, which operate independently and neutrally, were established in 2000 to provide a global study of customer satisfaction in the airport sector. These awards serve as a quality benchmark for the global airport industry, assessing customer service and facilities at over 550 airports, with the survey and awards free from any monitoring or interference from the airport.
