The Algerian Football Federation announced today, Monday, that the national team will face Senegal in Dakar next September in a friendly match between the last two African champions. The Algerian Federation stated on its website that the national team will play the match on the evening of Tuesday, September 12, at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium. This match will serve as a rematch of the Africa final in 2019 when Algeria won 1-0, before Senegal claimed the title in the following edition against Egypt. The match will be an important experience for Algeria ahead of their campaign in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in November, followed by the Africa Cup of Nations finals at the beginning of the new year. Algeria has already secured qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations set to take place in Côte d'Ivoire.
