New Russian Plan at Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant

Ukrainian state company Energoatom reported today, Wednesday, that Russian forces plan to evacuate more than 3,000 workers from the southern city of Enerhodar, including 2,700 workers who have signed contracts with the company appointed by Russia. Energoatom stated: "The Russian occupiers are proving their inability to ensure the operation of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, where there is now a catastrophic shortage of qualified personnel." It added: "Even those Ukrainian workers who signed disgraceful contracts... will soon be evacuated. This will exacerbate the already urgent problem of insufficient personnel to ensure the safe operation of the plant, even while it is currently shut down." It is expected that Ukraine will launch a counteroffensive soon in an attempt to repel Russian forces, with analysts viewing the complete restoration of control over the Zaporizhia region as one of its objectives.
