China Displays Military Strength Ahead of Taiwanese Drills

China showcased its military strength around Taiwan this week, conducting joint operations of forces ahead of Taiwan's annual military exercises at the end of the month, in which it will simulate breaking a Chinese blockade. Taiwan's Ministry of Defense stated that since Tuesday, China has sent dozens of fighter jets, bombers, and other aircraft, including drones, to fly south of Taiwan, some of which crossed the Bashi Channel separating Taiwan from the Philippines, heading towards the Pacific accompanied by Chinese warships. The Chinese Ministry of Defense did not respond to a request for comment.
