The spokesman for the Eastern Military Command, Serhiy Cherevaty, stated on Saturday that "Ukrainian forces advanced a distance of up to 1400 meters in several positions along the front lines near the city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine yesterday." Cherevaty said: "We are trying to strike the enemy; we are conducting a counter-offensive. We have succeeded in advancing by up to 1400 meters in several locations on the front." He noted that "the Russian forces themselves were also attempting a counter-offensive but were unsuccessful." In recent days, Ukrainian forces have intensified their attacks along the front line in the southeastern part of the country.
