Iran Condemns Rocket Attacks on Damascus

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani expressed the country's condemnation of the attacks on the Syrian capital and its suburbs today, Friday. Kanaani stated to the "Mehr" agency: "Unfortunately, and surprisingly, there has been no deterrent reaction from the international community to the aggressive and continuous military attacks by the Zionist entity on Syria, including on civil airports and even residential areas." He added that "this matter has encouraged the Zionist entity to continue its repeated crimes and violations of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of an independent country and a member of the United Nations." He regarded such aggressive actions as a clear and ongoing violation of international laws and regulations, as well as an attempt to distract attention from the internal crises and deep divisions of this entity. He called on "responsible international institutions, led by the Security Council, to immediately fulfill their legal responsibilities and take action against the aggressor, preventing the continued assaults by the Israeli entity and its severe and repeated violations of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity."
