Qatari Prime Minister Arrives in Moscow Today

The Russian Prime Minister, Mikhail Mishustin, will meet today in Moscow with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as reported by TASS news agency. The Russian government head will discuss current issues related to Russian-Qatari economic and humanitarian cooperation with his Qatari counterpart. The focus will be on the implementation of joint projects in the fields of energy, industry, and agriculture. The Russian government press office noted that "Russia has a long-standing tradition of friendship and cooperation with Qatar. Qatar is an important partner for Russia in the Middle East, and the relations between the two countries are based on the principles of mutual benefit and respect for interests." One of the main mechanisms for cooperation between the Russian and Qatari governments is the joint committee for trade, economic, and technical cooperation, which is headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
