The Russian news agency "TASS" reported today, Friday, that the Chinese ambassador to Russia, Zhang Hanhui, stated that his country opposes the U.S. decision not to invite Russia to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. The "Washington Post" had previously reported in July that U.S. officials stated that "U.S. authorities did not intend to invite Putin to this meeting."
