Egyptian Foreign Minister: Israel Has Not Allowed the Opening of the Rafah Crossing from Gaza

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stated today, Monday, that "the Israeli government has not yet taken a position that would allow the opening of the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip." Shoukry mentioned, "Egypt's aim since the outbreak of the conflict has been to ensure the continued operation of the Rafah crossing," and described the situation facing the Palestinian people in Gaza as "critical." This was part of bilateral discussions between Minister Sameh Shoukry and his French counterpart, focusing on joint efforts to promote calm and reduce escalation, as well as addressing the severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
