French Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne revealed to the RTL radio station today that France plans to ban single-use e-cigarettes. Borne stated, "This is an important public health issue," noting that the government is developing a national program to combat tobacco use, which she said causes 75,000 deaths annually in France. She pointed out that this type of e-cigarette fosters habits in young people that can lead to tobacco addiction. However, she confirmed that the government does not plan to increase tobacco taxes next year after raising them this year.
