In Kenya: Arrest of Second Pastor in

Kenyan Interior Minister Kithure Kindiki announced on Thursday that the leader of a church in eastern Kenya has been arrested in connection with a "mass murder" incident, from which 100 of his followers have been evacuated. Kindiki stated, "The head of the New Life Church/Centre in the Kilifi area, Mr. Ezekiel Ombo-Odiero, has been arrested, and actions are being taken to bring criminal charges against him related to the mass murder of his followers." He added, "The mentioned church has been closed. Over 100 individuals who were trapped in the church buildings have been evacuated, and they will be required to provide witness testimonies." It is worth noting that the arrest of Odiero and the closure of his church are separate from the case of the Good News International Church, a sect residing in a forest in the same area of Kenya, where authorities have recently discovered the bodies of 98 of its followers.
