Member of the Democratic Gathering bloc, MP Wael Abu Faour, indicated that a serious attempt is underway to elect a president, hoping that this attempt will yield results. He emphasized that Walid Jumblatt and the head of the Progressive Socialist Party, MP Taymour Jumblatt, "will spare no effort in assisting to reach a result." Abu Faour stated: "For the first time in a long while, we see that the countries concerned with Lebanon are on the same page, united, which paves the way to transition into a practical phase to elect a president." He added: "Now the ball is in the court of the internal political forces, to try to show some humility in their conditions and demands to achieve the election of a president, and to give this serious attempt all the possibilities for success to reach the election of a president, and then to an economic and social recovery plan."
