Peace Agreement Between Russia and Ukraine!.. What is China's Role?

Josep Borrell, the EU's foreign policy chief, believes that China could play a role in achieving a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. Borrell stated, "China does not distinguish between the aggressor and the victim. China does not call for the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine." He confirmed that the EU would not accept a hypothetical situation where Russia establishes a pro-Russian regime in Ukraine and deploys its forces along the border with Poland, an EU member. He added that China should use its influence over Russia to push for this agreement. Borrell sees the only proposed peace plan as the one suggested by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in November, which includes demands for the withdrawal of Russian troops and the restoration of Ukraine's borders to their state before Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014.
