Turkish media reports stated that "Iraqi Defense Minister Thabet al-Abbasi will visit Turkey tomorrow, Thursday, to meet with his Turkish counterpart, Yasar Guler." Turkey carried out airstrikes in northern Iraq targeting positions of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) after the group claimed responsibility for the first bombing attack in Ankara in years. Iraq condemned the Turkish airstrikes, and Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid expressed that Baghdad hopes to reach an agreement with Ankara to resolve this issue.
