Olympique Marseille president Pablo Longoria confirmed today, Thursday, that coach Igor Tudor will step down at the end of the season. Longoria stated, "We respected Igor Tudor's desire not to continue with the club; now it's his turn to announce his departure. Personally, and on behalf of the club, I would like to thank him for the work he has done, and he has all my respect."
Tudor himself said, "I have matured personally; I will leave the club in a better position than when I found it. I am departing for personal and professional reasons; I have not signed with any other team, and I am not angry with anyone." He added, "We played good football that entertained the fans and received appreciation. We managed to instill a culture with high standards, which is important for the club; we laid the right foundations for the future, and I hope Marseille returns to where it belongs as soon as possible."
