European traders have stated that "it is believed that Algeria purchased wheat today, Thursday, in an international tender that sought limited shipping to only two ports." They added that "the price of the purchased quantity ranged from about $269 to $269.50 per ton, including costs and shipment, with no estimates immediately available for the quantity purchased, but the tender sought to buy 50,000 tons." Traders believe that Russian-origin wheat made the lowest offer in the tender. It was reported that shipping will take place in August. The traders explained that "the tender required unloading shipments at the port of Mostaganem and/or the port of Ténès, which generally indicates that the plan is to purchase relatively small quantities." The results reflect trader assessments, and further estimates for prices and quantities may still be obtained later.
