Palestinian President to Blinken: We Reject Forced Displacement in Gaza

According to the Palestinian news agency (Wafa), Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas informed U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Amman today that he "rejects the forced displacement of Palestinians in Gaza." Abbas stated, "Emergency humanitarian corridors must be opened in the besieged coastal strip to prevent a humanitarian disaster." The Palestinian President emphasized "the need to immediately stop the Israeli aggression against our people, protect them, and completely reject the displacement of our people from the Gaza Strip, as that would be a second Nakba for our people." Blinken met today with the Jordanian monarch, in the second stop of his broadest tour of the Middle East to date, as Israel prepares for a sweeping ground attack in Gaza, having called on residents of Gaza City to evacuate and move south.
