World champion Annemiek van Vleuten won the Giro d'Italia title for the fourth time in her latest appearance, having dominated from start to finish yesterday, Sunday. She entered the final stage with a four-minute lead over French rider Juliette Labous, maintaining her lead to retain the title.
She said, "This is my second time with Movistar, and I am very proud of my team for securing the title. Now it’s time to recharge the batteries and prepare for the Tour de France."
Labous finished in second place, while Italian rider Gaia Realini took third in the overall standings.
