Earthquake of 4.9 Magnitude Off the Coast of Djibouti

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported today, Thursday, that a 4.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded off the coast of the Horn of Africa, specifically near Djibouti. According to the center's information, the epicenter of the tremor was located 33 kilometers east of the country's capital, Djibouti City, which has a population of approximately 623,000. The center's statement indicated that the earthquake's focus was at a depth of 10 kilometers.
