Police Officer Killed and Another Wounded in Shooting in Kosovo

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced in a statement that "one police officer was killed and another wounded in gunfire in a village in northern Kosovo early this Sunday morning." He stated in a Facebook post: "Currently, gunfire from various calibers at our police is still ongoing," describing the incident as an "act of terrorism." He continued: "The attackers are professional, wearing masks and heavily armed." Members of the Albanian ethnicity make up over 90 percent of Kosovo's population, while Serbs are only a majority in the northern region where there are plans for a municipality association with a Serbian majority.
