Data from the Japan National Tourism Organization revealed today, Wednesday, that "Japan welcomed over two million visitors for the third consecutive month in August, achieving a recovery of more than 80 percent from pre-COVID-19 levels for the first time." The data indicated that "the number of foreign visitors arriving for business and leisure reached 2.16 million last month, with visitor numbers at 85.6 percent of the levels seen in 2019, prior to the pandemic imposing travel restrictions worldwide."
