Michel Sleiman: To Restrict War Decisions to the State and Its Army

Former President Michel Sleiman stated today, Monday, that "while we see an absolute Lebanese interest in not entering the war between the Palestinians and Israel, we must pause at the statements and threats from Israeli officials such as (We will crush Lebanon) and (We will destroy Lebanon) and (We will return Lebanon to the Stone Age), which indicate the extent of hatred the Zionists harbor towards Lebanon." He added: "Can this lead us to not compromise our unity and the formula of participation among sects, restricting the decisions of war and peace to the state and its national army, and promptly completing constitutional obligations in accordance with constitutional principles?"
