US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller confirmed on Wednesday that "the United States will oppose any proposed buffer zone if it is inside Gaza, as this contradicts Washington's position that the area of the Palestinian enclave should not be reduced following the current conflict." Last week, Reuters reported that Israel sent plans to several Arab countries and Turkey regarding the buffer zone.
