Alessandra Galloni, the Editor-in-Chief of Reuters, addressed both parties involved in the conflict at the international Lebanese border through a video message, urging them to provide any evidence and documents to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of their talented and beloved photographer, Issam Abdallah. Galloni noted that, according to witnesses, the source of the rocket was from the Israeli side.
She called on the Israeli side to present a transparent and rigorous report regarding the killing of their photographer, and similarly urged the Lebanese side to do the same. She emphasized the need to protect journalists' lives in conflict areas due to the crucial role they play in conveying news and revealing the facts on the ground. She concluded: "Issam was fulfilling his professional duty when he was killed."
