Alfa Romeo, competing in the Formula 1 World Championship, announced the return of British James Key as the new Technical Director. Key will begin his role at Alfa Romeo on September 1st, replacing Jan Monchaux. Key expressed, "I am looking forward to leading the technical aspects of the team as we move towards a new and exciting future," emphasizing that "we know it will take time, effort, and perseverance, and we will reap the rewards of this work over the next two seasons and beyond, but we have a journey and a roadmap to implement, and I aim to start the mission as soon as possible."
Andreas Seidl, the CEO of the Sauber Group, mentioned that "Key's appointment is a significant step in the transformation process. He possesses extensive experience in this sport not only as a technical director but also in various other roles within the team's technical structure." He added, "He will lead the technical transformation of the team and provide us with the necessary tools to handle the future."
