Morocco: IMF and World Bank Meetings to Proceed as Scheduled

Two informed sources told Reuters on Monday that the Moroccan government wishes to proceed with hosting the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, scheduled for October in Marrakech, despite the devastating earthquake that struck the country, resulting in approximately 2,700 fatalities. One of the sources, who is close to the Moroccan government, stated to Reuters, "From the Moroccan authorities' perspective, the annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank will take place as scheduled between October 9 and 15, and there are no changes to the plans so far."
