Manchester United confirmed on Friday the return of winger Anthony to training and the possibility of his inclusion in the squad for the English Premier League as police investigations into assault allegations continue. Anthony was excluded from Brazil's squad for two World Cup qualifying matches this month amid police investigations into allegations by his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin. Anthony has denied any wrongdoing. United stated: "Since the allegations first emerged in June, Anthony has been cooperating with the police investigations in Brazil and the UK and continues to do so." They added, "Manchester United has decided that Anthony will resume training at Carrington and will be available for selection while police investigations continue; he will remain under monitoring as developments in the case await."
