UAE Announces Establishment of General Authority for Regulating Commercial Games

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported today, Monday, that it has been officially announced the establishment of the General Authority for Regulating Commercial Games in the UAE, as a federal entity to provide a regulatory framework for commercial games and lotteries. The agency stated: "The Authority will create a responsible gaming environment that ensures all participants adhere to strict guidelines and comply with the highest global standards in this field. It will coordinate regulatory activities and manage licensing at the national level, facilitating the responsible harnessing of economic opportunities in commercial gaming." It was also noted that Jim Morin has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board, while Kevin Molai will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority. The agency quoted Molai as saying that he "looks forward to managing a strong regulatory authority with his experienced colleagues, as well as establishing an effective framework for this type of gaming."
