Defense Minister of the caretaker government, Maurice Slim, confirmed that "there is no fear of security deterioration, and all available data with the security and military agencies, along with the security assessment of the Lebanese reality, indicate that the Lebanese army controls the security situation across the entire country and has the sufficient capability evidenced daily in maintaining order." In an interview with "Al-Jomhouria," he noted that "the agencies under the military institution, particularly the army intelligence, have demonstrated their ability to manage many attempts to disrupt security through proactive operations, alongside various security agencies that are fulfilling their roles and achieving successes." He added, "Currently, there are no entities in the Lebanese reality that could cause security disturbances, knowing that minor disruptions may occur but remain under control and cannot lead to a general collapse of the Lebanese security situation." He urged to "not be concerned about this matter," revealing that "in the past month, the Lebanese army and its agencies were able to uncover and dismantle a security network for the organization 'ISIS' in the north, arresting the head of the network and key members, and thwarting any potential security actions this network could have undertaken, which is part of the success of proactive operations that help reassure citizens."
