Hungarian Agriculture Minister István Nagy noted to Reuters on Wednesday that "five Central European countries that are EU members will submit a joint request to the bloc to extend the ban on Ukrainian grain imports after it expires on September 15 to avoid any significant market disruption." Nagy stated, "Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Slovakia will request the continuation of the ban on imports of wheat, corn, rapeseed, and sunflower seeds from Ukraine for the time being," pointing out that they "discussed an option whereby countries could individually request the EU to add products to the ban list."
