Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated on Wednesday that the country closed its airspace last week to Armenian flights traveling to a third destination, in response to the unveiling of a controversial memorial in Yerevan, Armenia's capital. Çavuşoğlu told the "NTV" channel that Turkey would take further measures if the memorial is not removed. The memorial commemorates those involved in a plot to assassinate Ottoman Turkish officials, whom Armenia blames for the mass killings of Armenians during World War I.
