The White House announced that tests have confirmed that First Lady Jill Biden has COVID-19, and she is experiencing mild symptoms, while President Joe Biden tested negative for the virus. This marks the second time Jill Biden, 72, has contracted COVID-19, with her last infection occurring in August of last year. President Biden, who is 80 years old, last had a positive test in July 2022. Elizabeth Alexander, her communications director, stated, "This evening, the First Lady tested positive for COVID-19. She will remain at home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware." Biden returned alone from Delaware on Monday evening. The White House added, "Following the First Lady's positive COVID-19 test, President Biden underwent a COVID test this evening. The President's test result was negative."
