Israel: We Killed a Leader Responsible for Weapons in Hamas

The Israeli army stated today, Wednesday, that "airstrikes on the Gaza Strip killed a prominent leader in the Islamic resistance movement (Hamas), responsible for weapon manufacturing and several fighters in the movement, while the extensive aerial and ground attack targeted a complex network of tunnels beneath the besieged region." The Israeli army's statement said: "Two separate strikes resulted in the death of Mohsen Abu Zina, a prominent Hamas leader responsible for weapons, and several fighters who carried out anti-tank missile and ground-to-ground rocket attacks." It added: "Our forces have completely surrounded the city of Gaza, considered the main stronghold of Hamas in the region, noting that they are advancing toward the heart of the densely populated city." Meanwhile, Hamas stated that its fighters inflicted heavy losses on the Israeli forces. Palestinian media also reported that clashes occurred between fighters and Israeli forces near the Al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City.
