The Media Commission of the Progressive Socialist Party stated in a statement that "if it is necessary and essential for the judiciary to have its say and deliver justice, for the law to have its decisive limits, for beliefs to be respected, and for institutions to have their role and appreciation, the people also have their right to freedom. Freedom that does not conflict with the freedom of others, freedom guaranteed by laws and ethics together."
It added: "Let the people have their right to truthful speech, to explicit expression, and to logical and purposeful criticism and accountability." The statement remarked that "the recurrence of arrests or harassment related to freedom of opinion is completely unacceptable and should not continue under any pretext," adding, "freedom remains despite the increase in prosecutions or methods of repression and restriction."
