Two cargo ships collided today, Friday, off the island of Chios in Greece, near the Turkish coast, according to authorities. The vessel "Potenisia," flying the flag of Singapore and carrying a crew of 19, collided with the ship "A.N.T.," flying the flag of Vanuatu and carrying a crew of 13, in the Aegean Sea, nine miles north of Chios. A coast guard official told Reuters that "there were no injuries, and there is no risk of pollution." He added that neither ship was loaded with cargo. Greek authorities deployed seven ships and a helicopter for search and rescue operations at the site.
