The French Olympic Committee announced today, Thursday, the election of David Labartian as President of the International Cycling Union until 2025. Labartian surpassed his fellow candidate Emmanuelle Ponnier-Ouldaghi in a secret ballot conducted by the board members, receiving 36 out of 45 votes. The 50-year-old Labartian will take over the responsibilities from Brigitte Enriquez, who resigned last month, approximately a year before the Summer Games in Paris 2024. The French Olympic Committee is not associated with the organizing committee for the Paris 2024 Games. The Paris 2024 Olympics are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11.
