Heavy Rain Floods Streets in Lebanon and Submerges

Heavy rains have flooded the streets of Lebanon today, Monday, leading to heavy traffic from Khalde towards the airport tunnels and from Naqqash toward Antelias reaching al-Doura, according to "Traffic Control." The rains also trapped some citizens in their cars. In the Ain el-Rammaneh area, heavy rain caused the streets to flood. On the airport tunnel road, rainwater overflowed, leaving citizens stuck in their vehicles for hours.

The "Heart of Jesus" Hospital in Baabda was also affected by the storm, as rainwater from the roads inundated its entrances, crippling its operations. The hospital administration has called on the relevant authorities to intervene immediately.

Due to the heavy rains, water from the roads submerged the entrances to Heart of Jesus Hospital, paralyzing its activities. The hospital administration appealed to the concerned parties for immediate assistance.

Beirut International Airport was also affected by the floods. Additionally, torrents overwhelmed the Hayy al-Sallum neighborhood and the Shuweifat road before the Daman intersection. The road under the Sports City Bridge also overflowed.

The National News Agency reported the closure of the highway from Beirut Khalde to Naameh-Damour in both directions due to the heavy rains that created ponds, leading to a complete road closure for five hours. Stranded citizens, some with urgent health cases, urged the relevant authorities from the Ministry of Public Works and Municipalities to work on opening blocked drains to clear the roads.

The Meteorological Department in the General Directorate of Civil Aviation forecasted that the weather tomorrow, Tuesday, will be partially cloudy with fog in the highlands during the morning and a rise in temperatures, with a possibility of light rain starting in the afternoon, especially in the northern regions.
