MP Ni'ma Frém has asserted that the elected president must address every person who left Lebanon in the past four years, saying, "Welcome back to your country, your country is ready for you, it values and honors you." After meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, Frém pointed out that "the president must reach out to global capital to bring it back and attract investments to Lebanon, not just from the region and investment funds." He added, "He should also appeal to Lebanese capital abroad to encourage their return to Lebanon because successful Lebanese individuals worldwide are needed to return and invest their energies and potential in developing their country."
In Ain el-Tineh, the Minister of Culture in the resigned government, Mohammad Wissam Murtada, presented Speaker Berri with the first medal for Castel Shkif, commemorating the 20th anniversary of its liberation from Israeli occupation, under the title "Castel Shkif, Princess of History," in collaboration with "Absi Medal Company" under the Ministry of Culture's patronage. The medal was sculpted by artist Riya Ghandour and designed by photographer Kamel Jaber.
On another note, the Speaker received a call from the acting head of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Ahmed Bahr, who congratulated him on the occasion of the Resistance and Liberation Day.
