Russia and China used their veto power in the Security Council on Wednesday against a U.S.-drafted resolution regarding the war between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas in Gaza. The resolution aims to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza by calling for a ceasefire to allow the entry of aid. The UAE voted against the resolution, while 10 members voted in favor, and two members abstained. The Russian draft also failed to win approval in the vote.
