The semi-official news agency "Fars" reported today, Sunday, that Iran warned Israel of escalation if it does not stop its attacks on Palestinians. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian stated that other parties in the region are ready to act if the aggression does not cease. The agency quoted him saying, "If the Zionist attacks do not stop, the hands of all parties in the region are on the trigger." He added, "The responsibility for the potential opening of new fronts for resistance in the region and any escalation of today's war lies squarely on the shoulders of the United States and the Zionist regime (Israel)." He further stated, "If the Gaza war expands, the U.S. will suffer heavy losses." He mentioned, "We have informed the Zionist entity through its supporters that if its crimes in Gaza do not stop, tomorrow will be too late... the region and its actors will not remain spectators."
In a related development, Hamas stated in a statement that Amir Abdullahian met with the head of its political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, yesterday in Qatar, where they discussed the movement's deadly attack in Israel and "agreed to continue cooperation" to achieve the group's goals. Earlier, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi urged France in a phone call with President Emmanuel Macron to help "prevent the persecution" of Palestinians.
