An official channel on Telegram reported that "traffic has resumed on the bridge linking Russia and Crimea, following a brief suspension of traffic today, Saturday." The channel had requested those on the bridge and in the inspection area to "remain calm and follow the instructions of transport security personnel." No reason was given for the traffic halt. Explosions on the Crimean Bridge on Monday resulted in the deaths of two civilians and stopped traffic on part of the bridge, which had recently returned to full operation after sustaining significant damage in a similar attack in October.
**Attempted Attack**
The governor appointed by Russia for Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, revealed that "Ukraine attempted to launch a drone attack on the region today, Saturday." He indicated that "the attack targeted infrastructure in the Krasnofardisky area near the center of the peninsula" and noted that "emergency personnel are on site to handle any potential consequences." Russia declared a state of maximum readiness for potential incidents at the bridge, while an official Telegram channel urged citizens not to panic if they hear alarms. Russia seized Crimea from Ukraine and annexed it in 2014, eight years before Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
