Aircraft Skids Off Runway at Mumbai Airport in India

A spokesperson for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, India, announced that a private plane carrying eight people skidded off the runway today, Thursday, temporarily delaying arriving and departing flights. The Press Trust of India (PTI), which has a minority stake in Reuters, reported that three of those on board the aircraft were injured. The plane, a Learjet 45 with a crew of two, was arriving from Visakhapatnam to Mumbai, the financial capital of India. The cause of the incident has not yet been determined. The spokesperson stated that the occurrence caused delays in flight arrivals and departures at the airport before the runway was reopened after safety checks were conducted.
