The Attorney General of Cassation, Judge Ghassan Aouidat, has filed charges against the investigative judge in the Beirut Port explosion case, Judge Tarek Al-Bitar, for abuse of power and overstepping his authority. He referred the case to the First President of the Court of Cassation to appoint an investigating judge for questioning Al-Bitar in accordance with the procedures followed in prosecuting judges criminally.
