The administration appointed by Russia for the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine reported today, Tuesday, that "units four and five of the plant have been put in a state of shutdown." They stated: "In order to conduct a scheduled technical inspection of the equipment of unit five, the management of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant decided to transfer the unit to a cold shutdown state. To provide steam for the plant’s needs, the reactor of unit four has been converted to a hot shutdown state." Moscow claims that it "intends to eventually connect the plant to the Russian electricity grid." None of the six reactors at the plant are currently generating electricity. Ukraine has pledged to reclaim the plant and all Ukrainian territories currently occupied by Moscow.
