The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Ukraine attacked Moscow with at least 5 drones, forcing one of the capital's main airports to reroute flights for several hours. It noted that "4 Ukrainian drones were shot down by Russian air defenses, while a fifth drone was intercepted before crashing in the Odintsovo area of Moscow." There were no reports of injuries. Russian news agencies reported that defenses intercepted two drones near a village located 30 kilometers southwest of the Kremlin. A drone was also observed in the neighboring Kaluga region. Operations for landing and taking off at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow were halted for several hours earlier today before resuming normal operations. The Russian Foreign and Defense Ministries condemned the attack, describing it as a "terrorist attack." In this context, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that "the attempt by the regime in Kyiv to attack an area with civilian infrastructure, including an airport, is yet another act of terrorism." She emphasized that "the international community must recognize that the United States, Britain, and France are funding a terrorist regime." No comment has yet been issued from Kyiv. Ukraine has never claimed responsibility for attacks inside Russia or on territories controlled by Russia in Ukraine.
