Trump After Court Appearance:

Former President Donald Trump condemned what he described as a "very sad day" for the United States following his court appearance yesterday, Thursday, on charges of conspiracy against the U.S. He claimed that the charges against him represent "persecution of a political opponent."

In another context, both the prosecution and defense team for the former president agreed that the next session in the case concerning the attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election will be held on August 28.

Trump said: "This is a very sad day for America. I walked through Washington today, and seeing this filth and corruption in the city made me sad. This is not the same place I left. The person who is ahead by significant numbers in the Republican primary polls and is leading Biden in the 2024 presidential election by a large margin."
