During his meetings in Paris, Minister of Public Health in the caretaker government, Firas Al-Abyad, confirmed the framework agreement signed between the Lebanese and French Ministries of Health regarding cooperation and coordination on several health sector projects. Al-Abyad noted that France is considered one of the most important supporters of Lebanon, both in terms of humanitarian aid and support for joint programs with the Ministry of Public Health. He emphasized that France's support for the health system in Lebanon has significantly impacted the resilience of this system and contributed to establishing effective projects for modernizing systems and ensuring equitable access to health services. For his part, French Minister Aurélien Rousseau reiterated his country's commitment to assist the Lebanese health system by advancing agreed-upon projects and establishing new ones under the signed framework agreement. Additionally, Minister Al-Abyad met with Dominique Libault, Director of the National Higher Institute for Social Security, to learn about the institute's efforts in training personnel in health coverage areas, as well as the reforms achieved for covering the elderly. The discussions also included ways to assist Lebanon in this field.
