Chinese President: Chinese-Arab Relations Have Achieved Historical Breakthroughs

Chinese President Xi Jinping confirmed that relations between China and Arab countries have seen significant development, establishing a strategic partnership based on comprehensive cooperation and shared development for a better future. The Saudi Press Agency reported President Xi Jinping's remarks during his closing speech at the Arab-Chinese Summit for Cooperation and Development in Riyadh, stating that the summit aimed to strengthen efforts to address the food, energy, and climate crises, commit to finding political solutions to pressing issues, and work towards maintaining peace and security in the region. He called for mutual understanding and the promotion of harmonious coexistence among different civilizations.

President Xi added that China has established comprehensive strategic partnerships with 12 Arab countries individually, signed cooperation documents for the Belt and Road Initiative with 20 Arab nations, and 17 Arab countries expressed their support for the Global Development Initiative. Furthermore, 15 Arab countries have joined the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and 17 cooperation mechanisms have been created within the framework of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum.

The Chinese president emphasized that Chinese-Arab relations have achieved a historical breakthrough, benefiting both peoples and injecting further stability into the region and the world. He noted that the China-Arab summit was a complete success, with both sides agreeing to work diligently towards building a Chinese-Arab community for a shared future in the new era, marking a pivotal moment in the history of Chinese-Arab relations. He stressed China’s commitment to using this summit as a new starting point to foster Chinese-Arab friendship characterized by solidarity, mutual aid, equality, shared interests, mutual benefits, and inclusiveness, as well as promoting promising cooperation prospects.
