Ukrainian Ground Forces Commander General Oleksandr Syrskyi stated today, Monday, that "Ukrainian forces have managed to break through Russian lines near the devastated city of Bakhmut, after recently recapturing the villages of Andriivka and Klishivka in eastern Ukraine." Syrskyi said via Telegram that "these two areas, which might initially seem small, represented important elements in the enemy's defensive line stretching from Bakhmut to Horlivka." He added, "As a result of the successful operations carried out by our forces, the enemy's defensive line was breached, which they tried to close by committing all available reserve forces to the battlefield." Syrskyi noted that "Russian forces are still attempting to regain the positions they lost in the Bakhmut sector, and the area is experiencing fierce fighting."
