Title: Video Shows American Police Officer Assaulting Pregnant Woman

A video published by American media captured police officers in Florida surrounding a car driven by a pregnant African American woman, with one officer beginning to throw her to the ground and assault her. This widely circulated incident occurred in May when police responded to a report of an altercation among passengers in a car in Boca Raton.

The confrontation and exchange between both sides were recorded by a body camera worn by Officer Matthew McNichols, who stated that Boca Raton is "his city." After a dispute between the police officers and the car's occupants, which included children, one officer forcibly pulled the pregnant woman from the vehicle, even as she screamed, "Do not touch me. I am six months pregnant." However, the officer disregarded her pleas, yanked her forcefully, and threw her to the ground, stating, "I don't care," before handcuffing her.

Authorities reported that "the involved officer retired after the incident, as confirmed by a human rights organization in the state." The American police confirmed that they "investigated the officer's conduct and charged the woman with resisting arrest." The woman, named Nerylia Laurent, shared the video on her "Twitter" and "TikTok" accounts, stating that she "wanted to resist the officer to prevent any police officer from causing psychological trauma to another child."
